Prize Winning Gardener!

Glade and Barbara Howell of North Ogden, UT are our September 2011 Winners!
We have a corner flower bed on a busy intersection in North Ogden, Utah. We love to work together in this bed, which brings us much happiness and satifaction as we try to make our 'little corner of the world' more beautiful. As retirees, we have had the privilege of making new friends as they come to visit it or view it -- aspiring gardeners, photographers, and even artists has stopped by, which has been an added bonus for us! We've planted things that bloom through the seasons -- 3 seasons, where we have perennials, annuals and bulbs. Spring arrives with hundreds of springtime blooms, including daffodils, tulips, and flowering quince, followed by iris, lupine, foxglove and peonies. Summer brings a variety of zinnias, petunias, delphinium, lilies and gladiolas. Fall is colorful with dahlias, mums, and several mature grassses. The enjoyment that comes as we work together in the soil, and then when we see the beauty that comes from that work, is truly a joy in our lives! Here are some shots of the blooms from a few of the seasons from our corner flower bed. Thank you for your consideration in the Garden Contest!
